Fun for all at Bowburn Clever Clogs' family fun day
Posted: (l dS F)A free family day held at Durham’s newest children’s nursery has been hailed a success by organisers as families from across the region joined in the fun to raise money for one of the North East’s leading children’s charities.
Clever Clogs Nursery in Bowburn (South Durham) hosted a free open day where visitors enjoyed an action-packed day of family entertainment, fund raising and games.
All proceeds from the day’s competitions and stalls will be donated to the nursery’s chosen charity, Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary’s (RVI) Children’s clinic.
The fun-filled day saw family enjoying a host of activities including a bouncy castle, face painting, competitions, apple bobbing, arts and crafts, balloon animals, a free BBQ and a spell binding magic show.
The fun day also provided opportunity for current and potential customers, neighbours, friends, colleagues and family to explore the newly refurbished nursery and celebrate the recent take over and renovation of the site.
The money raised for the RVI will be added to proceeds from a second family fun day planned for Hartlepool Clever Clogs Nursery on Sunday 31 July (11am – 4pm).
Andrea Townsley owner of Clever Clogs Nurseries said: “The family fun day at our new site in Bowburn was a huge success and a great day out for everyone. We welcomed a lot of new visitors to the nursery as well as current parents and children, and friends and family who were all keen to see our recently decorated and upgraded nursery.
“We are also delighted to be able to make a donation to the RVI’s Children’s Clinic – the hospital has cared for a lot of our nursery children over the years and we have worked very closely with the team regarding the care of one of our little boys in particular, so we know just how much this money is going to benefit the clinic. We are looking forward to enjoying another fun filled day and adding to the total raised for the charity at our next event in Hartlepool.”
Clever Clogs Nurseries is one of the North East’s most successful independent nursery chains. Clever Clogs Nursery in Hartlepool will be hosting a free family fun day on Sunday 31st July between 11am – 4pm where families will be welcome to enjoy the activity, raise money for the RVI, visit the new site and hear all about the teams’ ambitions for the future.
