Free family fun day and BBQ at Blowburn Clever Clogs
Posted: (l dS F)Families across the North East are invited to join celebrations at Durham’s newest children’s nursery on Sunday 19th June for an action packed day of entertainment, laughter and family-friendly activities.
Clever Clogs Nursery in Bowburn (South Durham) is hosting a free open day between 11am – 4pm for families in the area interested in childcare. The fun- filled day will include activities such as soft play, face painting, competitions, arts and crafts, balloon animals and entertainment from a spell-binding magician.
The Clever Clogs team is offering an open invitation to anyone keen to join the party, explore the newly refurbished nursery and celebrate the recent takeover of the site.
Sample classes of Tumble Tots’ Leaps and Bounds physical activity and Tiny Talk baby sign language classes will allow both adults and children to try out the new nursery classes for free – all while enjoying a free BBQ and refreshments throughout the day
All proceeds from competitions and stalls will go to the nursery’s chosen charity Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary’s (RVI) Children’s Clinic.
Andrea Townsley owner of Clever Clogs Nurseries said: “We are looking forward to hosting our first family fun day at our new site in Bowburn. It has been a fantastic and busy few weeks for us since taking over the nursery as we have redecorated the whole building, added a host of new toys, updated the outside playing area and set up new weekly classes, as well as welcoming lots of new children and parents into the Clever Clogs family and taking on new staff. We are making sure that Bowburn Clever Clogs provides the same outstanding level of education and care as our flagship nursery in Belmont”.

Clever Clogs Nurseries is one of the North East’s most successful independent nursery chains. Clever Clogs nurseries were founded by Andrea Townsley in 2007 who invested £390,000 in her purpose-built nursery in Belmont. Andrea invested almost £0.5million acquiring and renovating the two newest Clever Clogs sites in Bowburn and Hartlepool.
Clever Clogs’ flagship nursery in Belmont recently received an ‘Outsanding’ grading by education regulator Ofsted making it one of just seven per cent of nurseries in England to have received this same accolade.
