Clever Clogs achieves Outstanding Ofsted inspection
Posted: (l dS F)The children and staff of one of the North East’s most popular nurseries are celebrating as their nursery joins an elite group of just 7 per cent of nurseries in England to receive an outstanding rating from Ofsted, the UK’s education regulator.
Clever Clogs Day Nursery received outstanding rankings across all five areas covered in its latest Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills (Ofsted) inspection which citied the staff, facilities and parent involvement as central to the nursery’s success.
Andrea Townsley founded the purpose built Clever Clogs Nursery in Belmont, Durham in 2007 and recently invested almost £0.5m in two new nurseries in Hartlepool and Bowburn, Durham due to demand for space at her flagship nursery.
Andrea Townsley said: “Our ambition has always been to create a comfortable, safe, fun, educational environment for children to explore and grow. Combined with fantastic staff and regular parental input we aim to offer the best possible care and support for families and our latest Ofsted report proves that we have successfully managed to achieve this.
“All of the staff, parents and children at Belmont have helped make our nursery what it is, but our hard work doesn’t end here – not only are we determined to keep up our high standards at Belmont but we are also applying our experience and knowledge to Bowburn and Hartlepool to make them just as successful as Belmont.”
Clever Clogs Belmont offers childcare for 0-5 year olds, pick up and after school collection services for ages 5-11 and holiday clubs. With regular classes including Tiny Talk sign language, Tumble Tot soft play, French classes, indoor and outdoor play areas, on site catering, day trips and special needs care, the nursery offers flexible childcare solutions to suit all needs.
The Ofsted Clever Clogs Day Nurseries Report stated: “Parents speak confidently about their high satisfaction and cite the experienced and confident staff group as being a major factor in this process.”
When referring to the standard of early years provision and outcomes for children the report notes: “Children are very happy, confident and enthusiastic to learn in the welcoming, bright environment. They have fun as they eagerly choose activities and learn to make their own decisions. The development of children’s independence and promotion of active learning are key strengths throughout the nursery.”
Clever Clogs Nurseries currently employs 71 staff across all three nurseries with the potential to double the numbers when the two new nurseries reach capacity.
