Belmont Clever Clogs wins national recognition
Posted: (l dS F)One of the North East’s most sought after nursery care providers is celebrating after scooping a prestigious industry award for its Outstanding nursery.
Clever Clogs Day Nursery in Belmont, Durham has beaten off stiff competition from across the UK to be Highly Commended in the Pre-School of the Year category of the renowned Nursery World Awards 2011.
In the past eight months alone the fledging nursery chain has received an Outstanding grading by education regulator Ofsted, added two new nurseries to the Clever Clogs family, signed up more children and staff to all three of its sites and won this highly-respected accolade.
Recognised as the most prestigious nursery accolade in the UK, the 2011 Nursery World Awards saw Clever Clogs Nursery in Belmont shortlisted alongside just one other North East nursery across all 22 categories.
Andrea Townsley owner of Clever Clogs Nurseries said: “2011 has been a great year for all of the team at Clever Clogs. In-between opening our two new nurseries, investing heavily in boosting our facilities, taking on new team members, signing up lots of new children and achieving an Outstanding grading, our Belmont site has now been Highly Commended at the Nursery World Awards which really is the icing on the cake for us.
“The Pre-School of the Year award is also one of the most competitive awards so we are delighted to have received such high recognition. The managers of our nurseries have been central to our achievements at all three sites so it was lovely to be able to take them to London for the award ceremony, celebrate our commendation and thank them for all of their hard work – we even managed to fit in a little bit of sightseeing while we were there!”
Clever Clogs Belmont offers childcare for 0-5 year olds, pick up and after school collection services for ages 5-11 and holiday clubs. With regular classes including Tiny Talk sign language, Tumble Tot soft play, French classes, indoor and outdoor play areas, on site catering, day trips and special needs care, the nursery offers flexible childcare solutions to suit all needs.
