Belmont Clever Clogs shortlisted in national awards

After receiving an outstanding grading Ofsted, opening two new nurseries, hiring new staff and enrolling more children in just six months, a Durham-based nursery is celebrating more good news as it is shortlisted for a sought after national nursery care award.

Clever Clogs Day Nursery in Belmont, Durham has been named as one of just four finalists in the Pre-School of the Year category of the renowned Nursery World Awards 2011.

Recognised as the most prestigious nursery accolade in the UK calendar, Clever Clogs Nursery in Belmont is one of just two nurseries in the whole of the North East to be shortlisted across all 22 categories of the popular Nursery magazines’ awards.

The Clever Clogs team will be heading to London to find out if they have won the award at a gala ceremony at the Lancaster Hotel on 30 September 2011.

Clever Clogs Belmont offers childcare for 0-5 year olds, pick up and after school collection services for ages 5-11 and holiday clubs.  With regular classes including Tiny Talk sign language, Tumble Tot soft play, French classes, indoor and outdoor play areas, on site catering, day trips and special needs care, the nursery offers flexible childcare solutions to suit all needs.

Andrea Townsley founded the purpose built Clever Clogs Nursery in Belmont, Durham in 2007 and invested almost £0.5m in February this year in two new nurseries in Hartlepool and Bowburn, Durham due to demand for space at the flagship nursery.

Clever Clogs Nurseries currently employs 71 staff across all three nurseries with the potential to double the numbers when the two new nurseries reach capacity.

Clever Clogs Nurseries have a comprehensive range of policies and procedures which are all in accordance with the Department for Education and Skills Welfare Requirements and are inspected by Ofsted.
